Berkshire Printmakers own Venezuelan artist will give attendees the background into the art movement and the international influence of the famous Venezuelan Op artists. During the workshop combining both paper stencils and the printmakers library of 30 plus number of plain and patterned screens you will create to make your own Op art influenced prints . Friday 04 April 2025 Venue:  The Arc     map Address:   Jewry Street, Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 8SB Telephone:  01962 398046 Event:  VERMEER’S ‘THE MUSIC LESSON’ PAINT AND SIP WITH ALAN BECKETT - 6.30pm - Grab a glass of wine in one hand, a paintbrush in the other, and get ready to create your own version of Vermeer’s iconic piece ‘The Music Lesson’ from c. 1662–1665! Johannes Vermeer (1632–1675) was a Dutch Baroque painter celebrated for his masterful use of light, colour, and perspective. Though relatively obscure during his lifetime, Vermeer is now considered one of the greatest painters of the Dutch Golden Age. He is best known for intimate, meticulously composed interior scenes, such as Girl with a Pearl Earring and The Milkmaid. Artist Alan Beckett will lead you step-by-step through the process of recreating the artwork. Before this time, screenprinting techniques had been used in the printing industry to create billboards, brillo boxes and soup can labels! Learn about this art movement with Berkshire Printmakers and create your own Pop art inspired art work, using the printmakers large library of plain and patterned silkscreen and bright bold waterbased inks.
