Event: University of Winchester Music and Lyrics - 7.30pm - the University of Winchester Musical Theatre students take to the stage, in a one night only event: Music and Lyrics. Songs in musicals function in various ways and can express a range of emotions for the characters that sing them. Whether moments of joy, anger or despair, and everything in between, musicals allow characters to paint their emotions on a variety of canvases. In a stripped-back, concert setting, students will perform a range of songs drawn from across the musical theatre repertoire, illustrating that musicals can be so much more than frivolous entertainment

Event: Beauty and the Beast Jr. - 10.30am & 1pm & 3.30pm - Based on the original Broadway production and the Academy Award-winning motion picture, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is a fantastic adaptation of the story of acceptance, redemption and true love. This “tale as old as time” tells the story of Belle, a young woman who lives for her books and eccentric old father, Gaston, the conceited, chauvinistic hunter who is determined to have Belle's hand in marriage, and the Beast, who is really a handsome young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will be broken and he and his whole household will be transformed back to their former selves. But time is running out and if the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and all his friends will be doomed for all eternity.
