Double bassist Rick Foot has been making too much of the wrong kind of sense for longer than he cares to remember. His current solo act knits together voice, bass and looper around a collection of darkly funny songs about the insanities of modern life. These are often minimal and absurdist - his seven word, 30 second Message to the Future was a finalist in the 2018 International Songwriting Competition - and weave in elements of blues, jazz and folk, drawing on a 30+ year career as a musician in which he has performed and recorded with, for example, Dick Heckstall-Smith, Evan Parker, Nancy Kerr, Jon Boden & many others.
